Ghostwriter Chardonnay

Quite high in acidity which has always been the defining mark of this wine, the 2021 Chardonnay is a bit of a departure from the last fifteen years due to the absence of deliberate oxidation/maderization and consequently will likely be a bit more crowd pleasing. Still a blend of Woodruff with vines going back to the 1970s and Amaya Ridge which we planted in 2011, the wine is quintessentially, Santa Cruz Mountains, light and aromatic, minerally and racy. 2021 was a dry vintage and relatively easy to manage in the vineyard. Harvest came early as a result and the throughlines of the vintage are on display. Fermented in a single concrete egg, then aged in a French oak foudre for 18 months.  I expect this wine to age and improve for at least the near future.  pH 3.26, TA 7.8 g/L
