Chateau de Fontenelles

The terroir of the Montagne d’Alaric is distinguished by dominantly clay and limestone soil and the presence of stony terraces. The character of the terroir expresses itself in red wines with a sublime purple and ruby robe, a powerful and complex nose, combining spicy and floral notes and revealing a harmonious palate on absorbed tannins.

The Chateau de Fontanelles vineyard is located in a transitional region between a Mediterranean climate and oceanic influence. The vine experiences a long vegetative cycle, due to the dry, warm and sunny climate. The beneficial influence of the Cers river cleans the vines naturally and allows for reducing pesticide treatment to a minimum.
